Capilano University offers a variety of scholarships, bursaries, and awards that recognize academic achievement, leadership, community involvement, athletic excellence, and financial need. Future students are encouraged to apply for entrance awards. Additional external awards are available through non-profit organizations, and other agencies.

BC student loans and grants

Eligible students may qualify for provincial student loans and grants to support full-time or part-time studies. The Financial Aid and Awards team provides resources and guidance to help students understand their options, determine eligibility, and navigate the application process. Whether you're applying for student aid for the first time or returning to complete your studies, support is available to help you understand the steps involved.

Students are encouraged to apply early and review the requirements carefully to ensure their application is complete and processed in time for the start of their studies.

International and out-of-province students

Capilano University welcomes students from across Canada and around the world. Financial Aid and Awards provides guidance to help international students explore available funding resources and understand the financial planning required for their studies.

Students who have recently moved to British Columbia from another province or territory may also receive support navigating the provincial student loan and grant application process. Our team can help you understand where to apply and what steps may be required based on your individual circumstances.

Specialized funding programs

Depending on your circumstances, you may also be eligible for additional funding programs:

  • Adult Upgrading Grant helps students upgrading their education by covering eligible costs such as tuition, textbooks, supplies, transportation, technology, and child care.
  • Provincial Tuition Waiver Program (PTWP) covers tuition costs for eligible former youth in care attending public post-secondary institutions in British Columbia. In addition, the Learning for Future Grant (LFG) provides eligible former youth in care with funding for educational expenses, including textbooks, computers, and study supplies.
